Welcome to 2 Step Performance ("we," "us," or "our"). By authorizing diagnostic assessments, purchasing parts, booking appointments via our website, or leaving your vehicle at our shop for automotive repair, performance modifications, fabrication, or maintenance services, you ("Customer," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service.
1. Scope of Work & Authorizations
Estimates and Approvals: In compliance with Florida’s Motor Vehicle Repair Act, we will provide an initial estimate before beginning work. No additional repairs or modifications beyond the original scope will be performed without your verbal or written authorization.
Diagnostics: Fees for advanced computer diagnostics, mechanical troubleshooting, or A/C systems troubleshooting are independent of the final repair cost. If you choose not to proceed with the recommended repair, the diagnostic fee remains due in full.
2. Performance Modifications & Track-Use Parts
Off-Road / Track Use Only: You explicitly acknowledge that certain aftermarket components—including but not limited to 2 Step Controllers, anti-lag setups, custom headers, exhaust deletes, or performance camshaft updates—may alter your vehicle’s emissions controls or safety profiles.
Legality: It is your sole responsibility to ensure that any performance modifications requested comply with local, state, and federal laws. 2 Step Performance is not liable for any civil or criminal penalties, emissions testing failures, or voided factory warranties resulting from custom modifications.
Component Limits: Performance modifications inherently increase stress on a vehicle’s engine, drivetrain, and structural components. We are not liable for the mechanical failure of secondary, factory, or un-serviced parts resulting from the increased horsepower, torque, or aggressive operation enabled by your modifications.
3. Custom Fabrication & Vintage Builds
Fabrication Engineering: Custom welding, roll cages, brackets, and one-off fabrication pieces are engineered based on structural performance standards. However, because these are one-off items tailored to custom builds (such as Hot Rods, Rat Rods, and LS Swaps), variations in fitment to non-stock chassis are expected. Alterations to structural fabrication after delivery will incur additional fees unless due to structural craftsmanship defects.
4. Parts, Pricing, and Payments
Special Orders: Turnkey engine swaps (such as LS Swaps), custom valvetrain packages, custom exhaust systems, or specialty import parts (Jaguar, BMW) require a non-refundable deposit covering 100% of the parts cost before components are ordered or work begins.
Promotional Menu Pricing: Standard maintenance menu pricing, such as our Full Synthetic Oil Change ($89 using premium FRAM filters) or our $79 booking special, applies strictly to standard fluid capacities (up to 5 quarts of oil). Vehicles requiring specialized performance oils, high-capacity oil pans, or specialized filters will be priced accordingly with prior notice given to the customer.
Payment Due: Payment in full is due immediately upon completion of services. We accept cash, major credit cards, and verified secure payment platforms (such as Stripe). We do not accept personal checks for vehicle release.
5. Storage Fees & Mechanic's Liens
Vehicle Pickup: You will be notified immediately upon the completion of your vehicle's work or diagnostics. You are expected to retrieve your vehicle within three (3) business days of notification.
Storage Rates: Vehicles left on our property past three business days following completion notice will be assessed a storage fee of $50.00 per day, unless alternative arrangements have been made in writing.
Florida Mechanic’s Lien: Pursuant to Chapter 713 of the Florida Statutes, 2 Step Performance reserves the right to place a mechanic's lien on any vehicle for which charges remain unpaid. Continued non-payment after statutory periods may result in the vehicle being sold at public auction to recover the debt, storage fees, and administrative costs.
6. Warranty & Limitations of Liability
Workmanship Warranty: We stand behind our hands. 2 Step Performance warrants that all standard mechanical repairs and custom fabrication will be free from defects in workmanship for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, starting from the date of vehicle release.
Parts Warranty: Warranties on parts are strictly limited to those provided by the manufacturer. We do not extend our workmanship warranty to cover defects in third-party performance parts, customer-supplied parts, or parts subjected to competitive racing, track events, or abuse.
Customer-Supplied Parts: If we agree to install parts provided directly by you, we offer zero warranty on the part or the labor required to replace it if it fails.
Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by Florida law, 2 Step Performance's total liability for any claim arising out of our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service in dispute. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of time, towing fees, rental car costs, or commercial loss.
7. Vehicle Condition & Shop Dynamics
Test Driving: You grant 2 Step Performance employees explicit permission to operate your vehicle on public roads and highways for the purposes of diagnostics, testing, logging performance configurations, and verification of completed repairs.
Content and Valuables: We are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items left inside the vehicle. Please remove all valuables before dropping off your vehicle.
Unforeseen Disassembly Risks: When working on vintage vehicles, classic steel (Hot Rods/Rat Rods), or high-mileage daily drivers, aging components (such as brittle plastic clips, rusted fasteners, or dry-rotted hoses) may break during routine disassembly. We are not responsible for replacing non-service components that fail due to inherent age and decay during normal service procedures.
8. Governing Law
This Agreement and all interactions between you and 2 Step Performance shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. Any legal actions, disputes, or mediation arising from our services must be filed in a court of competent jurisdiction in Escambia County, Florida.
